Description
This is the third iteration of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. It was completed in 1872, and is 156 feet tall. The first was built in 1857. It is also, one of a few brick tower lighthouses still working in the US, and one of a few lighthouses that use an original first-order Fresnel lens.
This was shot just as the setting sun was touching the horizon, casting a golden reflection windows of the Lifesaving Station house. I waited for the light to come around, to catch both.
