The quintessential early bird, American Robins are common sights on lawns across North America, where you often see them tugging earthworms out of the ground. Robins are popular birds for their warm orange breast, cheery song, and early appearance at the end of winter. This is a young bird, who still has the speckles of youth on his breast, foraging in the brush at the edge of the woods.
I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Now, back home, and just enjoying the ride. I've been a photographer for over 40 years, first as a hobbyist, and then as a professional. I've enjoyed a lifelong love affair with animals domestic and wild, especially horses. I am an animal advocate, an outdoorsman, and naturalist first, and then a photographer. I believe that it is important to know, understand, and respect and protect the subjects that you want to photograph before ever setting foot in the wild.
