One of the largest black bear I have seen, this year. He walked out of a cornfield, just across a canal from me, in the early morning, as I was watching a group of bears and cubs in the distance. Here in Eastern NC, we have some of the largest black bear in the country. Or, in the world, actually, since Black Bears only live in North America. I am told that this one is known as Diesel because of his size.
I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Now, back home, and just enjoying the ride. I've been a photographer for over 40 years, first as a hobbyist, and then as a professional. I've enjoyed a lifelong love affair with animals domestic and wild, especially horses. I am an animal advocate, an outdoorsman, and naturalist first, and then a photographer. I believe that it is important to know, understand, and respect and protect the subjects that you want to photograph before ever setting foot in the wild. Self-described as a thinker, philosopher, photographer, and geek, but mostly just a dreamer! I won't bore you with a lot of pretense and fluff.
