Description
The term skewbald describes the color pattern, and has nothing to do with the breed. According to definition, a skewbald has a combination of white, and any other color, typically brown, or chestnut. The white parts of the coat are un-pigmented, meaning the skin is pink. The pattern on the head, with the white face, and brown cap and ears, is known as "medicine hat". In America, all such horses are called pintos. However, pinto, includes horses with white and any other color, including black. This guy was very friendly. When he saw me at the fence, he stopped grazing and came straight over.
