Description
I had just arrived at one of my favorite areas in the wildlife refuge. I was organizing my gear and taking my bicycle off the back of the Jeep, when I turned to see this beautiful young girl checking me out. She was maybe 10-12 yards away. She wasn't afraid, but wasn't quite sure either. She moved forward slowly, sniffing the air. Then she would stop and almost turn back, then hesitate again, and begin moving forward again. She wanted to get to the canal just past where I was parked, and the woods beyond. I grabbed my camera and just crouched down at the back of the Jeep. Once sure I was no threat, she slowly walked on past withi a few feet of me. It was an amazing encounter, and I could have happily gone home right then, feeling fulfilled, but there was more to come.
