About Fon Denton
I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Now, back home, and just enjoying the ride. I've been a photographer for over 40 years, first as a hobbyist, and then as a professional. I've enjoyed a lifelong love affair with animals domestic and wild, especially horses. I am an animal advocate, an outdoorsman, and naturalist first, and then a photographer. I believe that it is important to know, understand, and respect and protect the subjects that you want to photograph before ever setting foot in the wild. Great capture! Sadly not all rodeos have this ethic and there are some terrible cases of animal cruelty. I am happy to like and favourite this image, as these men obviously have the right attitude.

Thank you! Yes, it is unfortunate that there are still some of those incidents. Though, these days, at sanctioned events, animal care is taken very seriously! Cruelty of any kind will get you banned, and worse. I am happy these protections are in place. Everyone is better for it.
