After foraging in a wet and muddy corn field, this racoon came down to the canal bank, where he washed off a bit before swimming across to the woods beyond.

I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Now, back home, and just enjoying the ride. I've been a photographer for over 40 years, first as a hobbyist, and then as a professional. I've enjoyed a lifelong love affair with animals domestic and wild, especially horses. I am an animal advocate, an outdoorsman, and naturalist first, and then a photographer.
