Description
One of the most amazing sights that I have ever seen, takes place in the open fields, of eastern North Carolina, in late fall and winter. It happens in other parts of the country as well. It's called a murmuration - the bird dance, an aerial ballet with multiple thousands of red-wing blackbirds flying in mass but seemingly with one mind. Grackles, and Starlings do it too, but there is something special about the Redwing Blackbirds. Those flashes or red among the chaos! And, It is perhaps, even more amazing to hear those thousands of wings beating!

So Cool!! And they all make it into the sky.
Fon Denton replied:
Thanks! Yes, they will all be sitting in the field, then suddenly will take off in unison, climbing into the sky, then diving, and swerving back down, sometimes multiple times before settling back to the ground. Then it starts all over.
