Description
A yearling black bear takes a rest on a canal bank, in the early morning sun, after feeding heavily on the fresh spring grasses. This is probably her first season on her own, and she seemed comfortable with the company, as I watched from the other side of the canal. She fed, she groomed, and she even lay down for a rest, before feeding some more. It was so wonderful to observe her, from a respectful distance, comfortable in her natural behavior.
